What you’ll find here — and what you won’t
Open any booking platform and the balloon flights of Marrakech blur into one listing repeated over and over: sunrise take-off, Berber breakfast, hotel pickup, the same golden photos. The differences that actually decide your morning hide in the fine print — how big the basket is, whether “private” means your own balloon or a corner of a shared one, what the transfer really includes, what happens to your money if the wind grounds everything. Our pages exist to pull those differences into daylight, set options side by side where a comparison genuinely helps, and say plainly who each flight suits — and who should skip it.
What you won’t find is hype. No adjectives doing the work that facts should do, no “official rules” we invented, and no pretending that a balloon flight is something a booking page can fully control.
Three rules before a line goes online
Rule one: every fact starts in a source file. Flight logistics, take-off zones, weather limits, passenger conditions — each entry in our records carries the source it came from, and whatever we cannot trace stays off the site. When a claim belongs to the operators themselves — like flying “around 350 days a year” — we print it as their claim, clearly labelled, never as a fact of ours.
Rule two: prices in the open. A shared sunrise flight starts from ~€130, the royal private experience from ~€660, a tandem paragliding flight from ~€85. The live price always sits in the booking box, straight from the platform — as do ratings and review counts, which we never copy into our own text.
Rule three: the downsides in print. The alarm rings long before first light. Dawn over the plain is cold for much of the year, and the burner only warms whoever stands right under it. Shared baskets can carry a lot of people. And the pilot can cancel on the very morning of your flight — with a reschedule or refund from the operator, but with no balloon in the sky. A page that hides any of this does not get published.
The sentence we refuse to write
“Your flight is guaranteed.” Nobody can write that honestly. Balloons fly only when the wind agrees, the go/no-go call belongs to the pilot on the morning itself, and even the take-off area shifts with the day’s conditions. The same goes for “you will see the Atlas”: on a clear morning the mountains may well be on the horizon, but no one can promise you that view, and we won’t. We would rather you climb into the basket knowing all of this than find it out at five in the morning.
How we earn, said out loud
Every booking box on this site is an affiliate widget of the platform it links to, GetYourGuide. Book through it and the platform pays us a commission out of its own cut; what you pay is identical either way. That is the entire business model — there are no sponsored rankings, no operator paying to look better, and no fee anyone can pay to have their weak points written more gently.

This site belongs to a small family of independent travel guides, each devoted to a single place or experience and each built the same way: facts checked against sources, prices stated openly, disadvantages in writing, affiliate earnings declared. We don’t ask you to trust our taste in sunrises. We ask you to check our method — it is visible on every page, and it is the only promise we make.
